Competition Three Team Race – Sunday 1pm

Description

This competition will be held on Sunday 1st of October at 1pm in the Main Arena. To purchase a ticket to this competition, you must also have an entry ticket to the event.

Maximum number of competitors? 20 teams of THREE

What to wear?  Jeans, long sleeve shirt with sleeves fastened, helmet or cowboy hat. Western riding boots. Chaps or chinks are optional. Traditional western or Australian tack OR team costume however MUST be suitable for riding (eg if you go with capes make sure your horse can handle it prior to the event!)

What is the competition? Teams Barrel Race

• Teams of 3 (this ticket covers the whole team)
• Costumes/ team outfits encouraged (Prize for best dressed)
• Each member will complete a barrel run (right hand course)
• Barrel 1 – A bucket of tennis balls will be sitting on Barrel 1. Riders then pick up Tennis Ball and carry it to Barrel 2
• Barrel 2 – Place tennis ball in bucket
• Barrel 3 – Pick up coat and carry home

PENALTIES

-5 SECONDS IF

• Tennis ball is dropped
• Tennis ball is knocked off barrel
• Bucket is knocked over
• Placing tennis ball in bucket is missed
• Jacket is dropped
• Jacket is not picked up

-10 SECONDS IF

• Barrel is knocked over

FASTEST TIME WINS

Divisions: Open

Tack: All tack must be traditional western or Australian. Mechanical hackamores, tie downs, martingales, cavessons, drop nosebands and any form of gag bit or slip bit are not allowed. If the judge deems your gear unsafe for you or the horse, they have the authority to ask you to change it or disqualify you from the competition.

When will the presentation be?  The presentation will be held on Sunday afternoon after the Cowgirl Cutout in the Campdraft arena (approx. 4pm).  You are responsibility for collecting any prizes at the event should you not be able to make the presentation.  You do not need to be at presentation, but it would be greatly appreciated.

What are the age restrictions? Minimum age is 12 years old at the time of the event. You can make an application to [email protected] if you feel someone under this age could attend the Junior event. Everyone under the age of 18 at the event must wear a helmet when handling any horse.

What if you can no longer make it? Please notify us via email us at [email protected] as soon as possible. If there is a waitlist your place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list, once paid then your refund will be given.  If there is no waitlist and you can find someone to take your ticket, we will do a name change for free but only up to 7 days ahead of the event.   If this occurs in the week leading up to or during the event, please report to the Education Headquarters and notify them of your withdrawal.

When do entries close? Entries will be closed when the allocation has been completed, once your order has been processed you will get a ticket number to the competition, and this confirms your allocation to the event.
