Soph Stallmann lives and has grown up on a horse and cattle property. From a very young age, she has been obsessed with animals of all shapes and sizes, wanting to care for injured and orphaned wildlife, play with, ride, and swim her horses, train the dogs, work with cows, calves and bulls on the family property and just be a part of anything related to animals. However, horses have been one of the largest parts of her life.
Soph competes in campdrafts and challenges and loves the sport. Through meeting different equine performers and watching incredible performances, she became more and more interested in trick training and liberty and began to experiment with her own horses. Over the last few years she has been able to work more consistently with her horses after some time of trial and error training and lots of YouTube videos!
Currently Soph is studying a Bachelor of Equine Science at the University of Queensland, Gatton campus, and is loving it! Soph has really adapted to the “flexible delivery learning” with most lectures online, as she can spend more time at home with her horses.
Now, Soph is a full time uni student, balancing study, competitive equine goals, liberty and trick training and teaching horse riding and liberty lessons.
